Fall 2026 Book Club
Read Rethink and Revise with other teachers
Changing your literacy instruction is a lot easier when you are not doing it alone. We read the book together, one chapter at a time, and talk through what it actually looks like in a real classroom with real constraints.

What We'll Work Through
Four live sessions, plus a few reflection questions to guide your reading in between.
August 26 · Chapters 1 & 2
The Big Picture, and Assessment
Why rethink and revise at all, and what your current assessments actually tell you about your readers. Where to start when you want a clearer picture.
September 2 · Chapter 3
Whole-Class ELA
Study-centered reading, real discussion, and writing that connects back to the text. What this looks like when you only have so many minutes.
September 16 · Chapter 4
Whole-Class Foundational Skills
Looking at your routines with fresh eyes: what to refine, what to replace, and what is already working better than you think.
September 23 · Chapters 5 & 6
Small-Group Reading, and What Comes Next
Rethinking the purpose of small-group time, and how groups get formed when levels are not the organizing idea. Then: how you keep going after the book ends.
Who this is for
K-2 teachers, coaches, and interventionists who are somewhere in the middle of rethinking their literacy instruction. Maybe you have already made a few changes and want to know what comes next. Maybe you have been handed a new curriculum and are trying to figure out what to keep. Either way, you do not need to have read anything ahead of time, and you do not need to have it figured out.
Come with questions. Come with the thing that is not working. That is the whole point.
Brave change is system change.
